Highly Commended recognition for Laura at National IoD Awards.
Having won the Institute of Directors (IoD) CSR Director of the Year for the East of England, Laura was invited to join other regional award winners at the National awards recently. Held at the stunning Brewery, in London, nearly 500 guests joined 120 regional winners across 15 categories. Laura was amazed and honored to be awarded Highly Commended in her category – CSR Director.
The awards celebrate outstanding leadership and governance in an ever more challenging business landscape. Host, the renowned Sir Trevor MacDonald OBE, enamored guests with anecdotes from his career as a journalist. The event also included a welcome address from IoD Chair, Charlotte Valeur, and a congratulatory video from Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
Laura was delighted with the award saying, “It is extremely important for me to create a working environment which my employees not only enjoy, but which enables them to flourish. Our roles can often be stressful, so I am committed to their emotional wellbeing”. Additionally, Laura is a trustee for local charity Steel Bones which provides invaluable support and guidance to civilian amputee families. Through her business, Your Telemarketing, Laura provides free telemarketing to help the charity raise corporate sponsorship.
“I’m also passionate about supporting young people in their transition from education to employment” continued Laura. “I deliver a confident telephone skills workshop as part of The Mix, Stowmarket’s Together Project, which enables and empowers young people to change their world and ours.
Laura went on to comment that she felt extremely privileged to be able to make a contribution to both these charities, and thrilled that the IoD should commend her efforts both for her charitable work and with her amazing team.
